"I was born with Africa in my heart — it shapes everything I create and everything I strive to protect."
With over 15 years of experience in tourism operations and destination development, Heiko has dedicated his life to redefining how travellers experience Namibia. His mission is clear: to transform visitors from spectators into participants in a living, regenerative story.
Under his leadership, About Africa Co has grown from a single vision into a family of brands that embody the ethos of sustainable, regenerative travel. From developing new concession projects like Sossusvlei and Etosha Horizons, to restoring iconic properties such as Pelican Point Lodge, Heiko isn't just curating luxury — he's building the blueprint for regenerative development across Africa's best-kept secret.
His philosophy is captured in three words: Explore | Inspire | Conserve. Each itinerary designed by About Africa Co invites travellers to experience a new era of travel that gives back — to the land, to the wildlife, and to the communities that call Namibia home.
Heiko's commitment extends beyond tourism. As the driving force behind the Grow Namibia Foundation, he channels the spirit of purpose into action — building schools, supporting rural communities, and funding conservation programmes that sustain the wildlife and people who define Namibia's future.
At About Africa Co, he leads a family of brands that embody this ethos. OUT Namibia champions inclusivity by creating safe, inspiring experiences for LGBTQ+ travellers who seek authenticity without compromise. The work extends beyond tourism — it's about legacy.
